Exploring Ayahuasca Part I

Banisteriopsis Caapi, also known as caapi or yajé, is a South American jungle vine of the family Malpighiaceae. It is used to prepare the plant medicine called ayahuasca, the name of which means “vine of the soul”.

The shamans of the indigenous western Amazonian tribes use the medicine as a plant teacher in religious and healing ceremonies during which a person goes in to trance which lasts approximately four hours which allows them to enter the world of the spirits and communicate with them.
