Marshall Lever had his first ‘other world’ experience as a small boy high in the Rocky Mountains. Caught in a summer rainstorm with his horse and dog, he tried to light a fire for warmth. After repeated failures, he slumped back against a tree, cold and dejected. Suddenly, to his utter amazement the wood burst into flames, and from that day on, Marshall became aware of an unusual inner voice that taught him of nature, perception and the mediumship of the ‘inner way.’
As a young man, Marshall trained as a young Presbyterian seminarian but this did not last because, soon after, he discovered his deep trance abilities when he made contact with a spirit named Chung Fu, who described himself as a student of the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu.
’The Circle of Inner Truth’ was a channelling group that Lever and his wife, Quinta, set up around the teachings of this spirit guide. And, in 1970, they gave up any home life and spent all of their time travelling and allowing Chung Fu to lecture and counsel people, particularly in London, where they visited regularly. The guide held a weekly closed circle there for a number of years in Holland Park.
Chung Fu taught that humans have immortal spirits that live through many incarnations. The incarnating process continues until the individual identifies with a God-self during a life on Earth. Such an awareness is developed through the practices of affirmative meditation. Chung Fu said that he was mainly drawing people to him who belonged to a specific soul grouping that had been together in many lives, and due to ego had dropped behind in their group evolution. His presence was a challenge to them to lift their consciousness and progress to where they could take on their allotted spiritual role, and his closed circle was carried out according to very strict principles. Marshall also gave health readings at the College of Psychic Studies, similar to those once offered by Edgar Cayce and life readings according to Pythagorean numerology.
In due course, the guide asked his inner circle of students to set up ‘The Forest of Kan’ in California as a modern mystery school and centre of spiritual learning, but insisted that his instructions were to be followed precisely. However, his followers did not take up the very exacting challenges and sacrifices involved and, eventually, the guide abandoned the project and withdrew. The Levers have since moved on to other activities.
The circle continued into the 1980s. The Levers issued a magazine, Our News and Views, from San Francisco. However, more recently, the Levers have moved on to other activities
Sally Pullinger met Marshall Lever during the period when he was visiting London. She was at that time developing as a trance medium with Ivy Northage, one of England’s leading trance mediums, whose development circles Sally sat in for seven years, from 1972 to 1979, at the Spiritualist Association in Belgrave Square, London. Chung Fu started to come through in those circles, and for several years he worked only privately within Sally’s family, and in particular he communicated with her partner Michael O’Connell. But it was much later, in the early 1990’s, in Glastonbury, that Chung Fu explained how he had gradually adapted to the situation, and for a while, till the early ‘80’s, he was working with both ‘vehicles’, and how eventually he came to work mainly with Sally. However, Chung Fu always maintained he worked with others within our world, and that one day we might meet and work with these people……
So for the last thirty years, Chung Fu has been working through Sally Pullinger, assisting many beings to find their deep inner soul connection and soul purpose and to lift themselves onto their true and authentic life path. This has only been possible through the constant and untiring devotion of Sally’s daughter and spiritual partner in this work, Sophie Pullinger, who is herself Chung Fu’s dearest and most treasured ‘spiritual daughter’. Sophie and Sally have steered the ‘Chung Fu Vessel of Inner Truth’ for many years now and have co-created a loving community of like-minded independant-thinking courageous truth seekers who have been willing to really go that extra mile that Chung Fu always requires of his students. And it is an ever-growing ever-expanding community, with more and more partners, parents, brother, sisters, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts becoming involved and gaining enormous benefit from this work within all their relationships and in all areas of their lives.
In the last two years, having spent many years training and developing with Chung Fu, Sally’s son Jerome, Sophie’s brother, has joined the family team. He brings his powerful skills within the realms of sound healing, music, healing meditations, and strong emotional release therapy. The passionate dream and vision of the Chung Fu Family is to create a land-based spiritually-centred self-sustaining community and create their own ‘model of right living’ together in the beauty way of truth peace harmony and love, a centre within which all that Chung Fu has taught us can be practised and realised. Over the last ten years a number of wonderful gifted mediums and spirit-workers have emerged and joined forces to create together this Temple of Deep Soul Connection and Spirit Communication throughout the Dimensions. Some of them will also join the Chung Fu Family in order to create together a strong Centre for Spiritual Development and Soul Evolution, which is projected to be the first of many world-wide.
